We also have a private “BAND” that we choose to conduct most of our communications through.

6 Week Art Class Information

Art will be taught in a group setting with no more than 10 students.

Lesson One: Shading In this lesson we will be exploring how to use shading and shadows to give object dimension. We will begin by sketching a real object together, then we will use a flashlight to see how the shadows change the objects appearance. We will complete our project by shading our drawing in.

Lesson Two: Drawing with an eraser In this lesson we will discover a new technique for shading objects. We will start with coloring the entire photo with black chalk, then using an eraser, we will draw and shade our objects.

Lesson Three: Fingerpainting on Wood In this lesson we will use our fingertips to create images of nature with paint on a wood canvas.

Lesson Four: String Painting In this lesson we will use various types of paint-soaked string on our canvas for an abstract concept. Students will roll string, throw string, pull string, and lay strings to see the different looks each can create.

Lesson Five: Map Collage In this lesson we will cut old maps in different shapes and glue them together to create a photo of something easily recognizable

Lesson Six: Vellum Adventure In this lesson we will use vellum paper to paint an object or design.
