In 2000, Luis began his musical journey with his first drum set that he received as a birthday gift from his parents. That same year, he gave his life to the Lord and started his walk with Christ. Due to lack of finances his family could not afford music lessons. Luis did not let that hold him back. With a deep passion for music and a heart to serve the Lord, he dedicated hours daily to practicing. Later that year, Luis set out to build a high school ministry worship team for his church. This could not have been possible without the influence and discipleship from his youth pastors. They encouraged and allowed the opportunity for him to walk by faith and this has been the pattern set in his life ever since.

After years of solely playing the drums, the Lord then made a way for him to lead worship for his church’s youth ministry for 8 years. During this time, he discipled a number of future worship leaders, many of which would fill his positions in worship ministry, as the Lord would call him into different mission fields. Outside of church he also started a band with his friends and went on to record and perform their self-written music. His band continued in this exciting chapter for 7 years until differences in passion brought it to an end.

Luis is passionate about young people knowing, loving, and serving the Lord. With the staggering number of young people leaving the faith, Luis is determined to provide purpose for today’s youth, keeping them engaged in their faith, and creating the pattern of service that will launch them confidently into adulthood.
